Couple of days ago, in a random evening I was craving for Hyderabadi Biriyani. So my friends took me to Tarka Indian restaurant in Banani. I’ve never been there before, but I had this mouthwatering Indian cuisine cooked “horribly wrong” at few other different places in Dhaka. With my fingers crossed, I went to this place, with hopes in my mind. I absolutely loved their hospitality, the welcome “Jeera Pani”, the service and the décor. But what snatched my happiness away was the Biriyani… It was way too much blunt in taste, seemed like it was cooked with readymade pack masalas. The mutton pieces were irrationally full of bones! And all I could taste was Chilli powder! And it was kinda cold and pretty much sticky due to mutton fat. :( However, with a broken heart, I ate my friend’s chicken tandoori and parata to make my stomach happy, which was comparatively better than the Biriyani. The Biriyani was 320 taka without VAT and service charge as far as I can remember. According to the price set to the standard of the food, I would rate TARKA as below: Décor: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Food: 6/10 Price: 5/10 I will really appreciate if someone can recommend a good place who make REAL Hyderabadi Biriyani
