Couple of hours ago (and you might be able to catch it again later,) WBZ did a price comparison using five stores- Market Basket, Hannafords, Star, Roche Bros. and Stop & Shop, with ten identical items. Although they didnt give the ranks (or might have- I passed under some electrical wires,) Market Basket was indeed the lowest price overall on those items by 24%. Star was the highest, which actually surprised me a little (I wouldve thought Roche Bros. wouldve got that honor,) and one of the items, again, didnt quite catch which, had an EIGHTY-FOUR PERCENT difference in price. This proves we Market Basket shoppers arent just rabidly loyal, were pretty smart, too.
