Couple of lovely people have reviewed our album recently. Firstly Mr Mark Chadderton who runs the brilliant UK Subs website Time and Matter wrote this for Vive le Rock magazine. Heres what he had to say just in case they never fecking publish it!! UKEPUNK! Punk Police (UkePunk!) 8/10 Fabulously refreshing listen The cover strap-line states ‘no guitars were used in the making of this album’, immediately showing off this Ramsbottom three-piece’s toe-tappingly effective modus operandi. Readers may be familiar with some of the superb ukulele punk cover versions UkePunk Paul Davies has posted on YouTube, but this Indiegogo funded album boasting tight ukulele/bass/drums full band now lightens up the punk scene through sharp arrangements, natty production and wonderfully world-weary observations on politics/personal issues. The lineage of Northern alternative acerbic wit is in abundance here from Formby through Cooper Clarke and Jilted John. Many a true word’s sung in jest on the title track: “We love to smirk at Johnny and his butter cos we think that he sold out, we’ve got day jobs and we’re part of the system, that’s what anarchy’s all about…” Songs about imaginary girlfriends, smoking on planes, fracking and ‘Northern Girls Are Gravy’! Gerrit! Mark Chadderton ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And secondly the Wonderful Charlie Moore. Writer & once drummer for Marmite band (Love em or hate em) The Macc Lads. Your CD is absolutely mag-f*cking-nificent! You have recorded one of the albums of the year, in my opinion. Wonderful, insightful, funny and poignant lyrics. So many people will identify with this. Beautifully played and arranged by the three of you; you should be very proud, Paul. Its top drawer! ukepunk/
