Couple of things on the medical news front... A Dr. Garner, on - TopicsExpress

Couple of things on the medical news front... A Dr. Garner, on Fox News, reported on a study noting that the risk of childhood obesity increased 11% after just 4 rounds of antibiotics!!! That is an incredible number. Eleven percent of the tens of millions of children in the US is a staggering number. It is validation to what I have said in the THRIVE TOMATO post that the broad use of antibiotics is creating a very unhealthy national crisis. Further he noted that the far ranging destruction of healthy bacteria in our GI system increases the total calories absorbed, but reduces the cleaving of nutrients needed for health. It also facilitates the overall disruption of normal gut function. Thrive and its numerous pre/probiotics rebalances our GI tract and helps restores the gut flora to normal; improving the normal and efficient absorption of minerals, vitamins, amino acids, etc. We cannot hope to live a healthy life without balance in our bodys systems. Hmmmmm, wonder why I have not missed a day of Thrive for over 10 months? Secondly, with the Ebola scare, I talked to a dear friend that is a paramedic at the Dallas hospital where the first reported case of Ebola was diagnosed in the US. He was concerned enough to call me to discuss several issues. First, if you havent read the Hot Zone book, do it! Frightening stuff. But, the risk of contracting the disease is quite difficult without direct bodily contact. That doesnt mean there is no concern, but I remember the undue hype concerning a world ending virus call HIV. I was a medical student and Intern when it broke into the crosshairs of the medical and media establishments. We had a lot of fears that were unfounded. Medicine found effective ways to combat, educate about, and manage the disease - what used to be a death sentence can now be treated effectively. Most people infected with HIV can be expected to live a normal lifespan. What can you do to protect yourself? Common sense hygiene and keep your immune system as healthy as possible - dont smoke, exercise regularly, and concentrate on proper nutrition...see a theme here? Even if you do not trust me or the thousands of Thrivers talking about life changing results, at least guarantee yourself and your family that you have the highest grade nutritional product on the market to fill the nutritional voids in your diet and health. As our world is becoming increasingly more dangerous to the unhealthy, isnt it time to take that step toward better health and nutrition? Be well... didkona.le-vel Michelle OConnor
