Couple things stand out for me over the past 4 weeks at the regionals I attended. Kyle Kasperbauer fighting out of a hole to win the NC also at the NC Elisabeth Akinwale and her handstand walk. I watched my friend Stacie J. Wemhoff Tovar have a bad showing on the HSW and never stop fighting the entire time (I also watched her hubby and my friend Dustin Tovar show what it is like to be someones biggest fan. I hope that when people see me watching Kelsey compete they think the same of me). At the Northwest Regional I watched my special lady friend earn her first trip to Carson w/ her teammates at CrossFit Marysville & win the NW regional and Cole Sager earn his first trip to Carson as well as Rory Zambard fight her way onto the podium for trip #2. I watched by friend Mr. Irrelevant Joshua Bailey have a couple shining moments too. In the SoCal I watched Lindsey Valenzuela barely miss a trip back and it still bothers me that I will not get to see her compete this year but I have no doubt she will be back with a vengeance in 2015. I searched in the final heat of 6 WODs trying to find that good looking blonde that has been to the games 6 times and eventually figure out she dyed her hair brown Rebecca Voigt (I was in denial each wod). I got to see my buddy Cj Martin take his team back to LA and have to earn it to win their region again, it was a fight till the end. Kenny Kenneth Leverich crushed it in SoCal and invented the name of the new Kill CLiff flavor Hunk Fule!!! Josh Bridges entertained as usual (he is a natural sprinter, built like a gazelle CJ says). My peeps at Brick Crossfit tried to give me a heart attack but all Jarett Perelmutter was trying to do was give the people a show. Bryan Miller did the absolute best Dave Lipson impersonation I have ever seen at SoCal. This weekend i was in the southwest regional and it was awesome Tommy Hackenbruck rocked, Brennan Fjord had a couple WODs not go his way but I guarantee he goes to the games in 2015. He has tremendous work capacity and is skrong! Matt Hathcock had some big highs and some lows but he will def be back better than ever. I got to spend some time with Kevin Ogar thsi weekend and he has some very very cool stuff in the works. I saw Kiki Dee and Josh Gallegos i think every weekend and actually learned that Kiki was a former semi finalist for american idol (who the hell knew that?) aaaand I am sick of typing, im on a flight home, if i forgot anyone my apologies and this post was about the regionals i attended. ill make another post about my friends that qualified from regionals i did not attend. so im not proof reading this, im just hitting post.
