Court Support Worker (Aboriginal Specialist) Part Time 14 hours per week Macquarie Women’s Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service (WDVCAS) Salary $22,599 plus 9.50% superannuation and optional salary packaging - SCHCADS Award Macquarie Women’s Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Services (WDVCAS) is looking for a Court Support Worker (Aboriginal Specialist) who will provide assistance and support to women and their children attending court in the Parramatta and Ryde Local Government areas as a result of domestic violence. SELECTION CRITERIA 1. Tertiary qualifications and/or experience with the legal system and social welfare; 2. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the criminal justice response to domestic violence, including ADVO applications and criminal prosecution; 3. Ability to provide support and advocacy services to a diverse range of women and children; 4. Ability to work with local Aboriginal communities to promote awareness of domestic violence and MWDVCAS services; 5. Excellent communication, computer and administrative skills. Ability to work as part of a team; 6. Ability to work on court list days (currently Tuesdays); and 7. Being an Aboriginal Woman. Applications: You must apply in writing by 1 September 2014 at 5pm.
