Zen will be 3 years old on october 16th and weighs about 115lbs. He is very mellow and loves to ...just look out a window for hours. He is quiet in the house and also enjoys being outside. He likes to go for walks and does not pull, but has had some leash aggression which has gotten better with time. An owner that is capable of controlling him would be advised. For a TM, he is not dominant. He is very attuned to what is going on and gentle communication and consistency work better with him than dominating him. He is good with other animals and was raised with dogs. He is EXCELLENT with children. He is a Tibetan Mastiff and is very protective of his home. He is very alert to noises at night and will bark if alarmed, he is not a nuisance barker though, and he will be quiet if you tell him to. He is wary of people coming into the home and guests need to let him check them out before they are deemed okay to enter. Another option is to just put him in another room when company is coming. TM’s have a reputation for being independent, but we have not found this to be the case with Zen. He loves to be around people and snuggle, at least until he gets overheated. He is also food motivated and fairly easy to train. One of his annoying behaviors is that he startles easily. He has been freaked out by a stroller, boxes, a cooler, etc. When this happens, he just tries to flee. Overall, he is a very easy going guy and just wants to make his people happy. He would make a great family dog and really enjoys the company of other animals. He would also make a perfect country dog.See More
