++Courtesy Post/ Ava and Lugar++ Lilly Fund Co-Founders went out and made a visit to a big fan in East Boston last night. Bob and his wife are owners of these 2 gorgeous pit bulls named Ava and Lugar. Sadly, Bob has become nearly immobile with osteoarthritis and is soon to have heart surgery and his wife works 2 jobs to make the bills. They had to sell their house and have to move to a rental in 13 days! They have been searching for months for an adopter to no avail. :( We have tried to arrange a way for Lugar and Ava stay in their home but their are so many circumstances to be considered these two pups just have to be re-homed. Bob is so heart broken but he wants what is best for the dogs. He desperately needs someone to take them in and love them the way he and his wife have for the last 6 years. He is their primary care provider and hes too ill at this point in his life. Hes owned pits for 13 years and is an amazing advocate for the breed. Ava and Lugars temperament is so sweet, they love to give kisses and wag their bums in tandem. They do like other dogs but we are looking for someone who can give them the attention they get at home right now – belly rubs, treats and lots of kisses. Bob is so concerned he wont find the right person to give them a home and they will end up at the shelter.
