Courtesy of Jays Homepage: (with edit) THE EAGLE SCOUTS OF AGUSAN The highest rank a boy scout can attain in the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) Organization is the Eagle Scout Award. It is awarded to the boy scout who has earned specific number of badges, did community services and projects, and exemplified good leadership skills and practiced good deeds. The giving of the Eagle Scout Award by the BSP started in 1936. In 1962 - 1976, it was renamed to the Jose Rizal Scout Award. In 1976, it was renamed yet again to Scout Citizen Award, up to 1994. Finally, it was renamed back to its original --the Eagle Scout Award, beginning in 1994 up to the present. To be an Eagle Scout Awardee, or a Jose Rizal Scout Awardee, or a Citizen Scout Awardee, means simply that these boy scouts have lived up to the ideals of scouting to deserve such award. Its always an honor for these boy scout awardees to carry on and live up to to the ideals and principles of scouting in their respective lives and with their families, making scouting a way of life.
