First Class Lynnise White Moore advocates for women veterans and needy families in southern Arizona, and for her service before and after her military career, the Sierra Vista resident was recently inducted into the Arizona Veterans Hall of Fame. Moore has been president of San Pedro Chapter 95, Women’s Army Corps Veterans Association. As the association’s representative to the Joint Services Club, Sierra Vista, she has supported the Sierra Vista Veterans Park and Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery. She leads the effort at Sierra Vista’s Carmichael Elementary School food bank to making sure children have food over the weekend, and has also collected coats, hats and other apparel to keep students warm in the winter. After her military career, the Memphis, Tenn., native was admissions and marketing assistant at Life Care Center, a long-term care facility. They are the Daisy Mountain Veterans Parade, stepping off at 10 a.m. in Anthem, and the East Valley Veterans Day Parade at 11 a.m. in downtown Mesa. Arizona Stand Down and USO of Arizona will receive financial donations from the bank. The event is at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, and is scheduled to conclude shortly before the parade reaches the area. American Legion Posts 44 and 115, the Scottsdale VFW and the Scottsdale DAV will jointly sponsor this years ceremony at The Chaplains Monument in Scottsdale Civic Center Park, 3939 N. Drinkwater Blvd. Several military and civilian dignitaries will have brief presentations, and there will be an honor guard salute to veterans. The event is at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 11, and will conclude with Tolling the Bell at 11:11 a.m. All are invited.
