Cowspiracy talks about green house gases related to beef. But, that is off mark. The film is not only about beef, or greenhouse gases. It also talks about the very large environmental impact of meat consumption. That is the central issue. That is where the collapse of the oceans fisheries comes in. That is where a large part of deforestation comes in. That is where desertification comes in. That is where human starvation comes in. As for greenhouse gases, the film confuses the normal carbon cycle with excess carbon dioxide. Nevertheless, it is probable that the methane and nitrous oxide production would be mostly categorized as excess greenhouse gases. I would agree with Lester Brown, that a sure fire threat to civilization coming up now, is the degradation of our food supply. This film addresses this, because feeding animals to feed people is terribly inefficient.
