YAHOO!!! YES!!! You heard it here FIRST! This 9th annual Aiken and Friendsfest Music Festival is held in the lovely waterfront town of Smithfield, Va. The Aiken and Friendsfest Festival begins on Friday night in the Smithfield Little Theater, and features a night of Homegrown Acoustic Music with laughter, storytelling and a very special up close and personal .... intimate night of Songwriters in the Round! There are workshops and wonderful occasions to get to know the artists as they welcome you to this amazing event in small town America bringing the creme de la creme crop singer/songwriters to the Aiken and Friendsfest stage. The festival continues on Saturday on the Historic Grounds of Windsor Castle Park, where youll again have a chance to enjoy many of these singer/songwriters performing upon the Aiken and Friendsfest Stage. World traveled Mike Aiken and Band caps off the festival, as sunset hits the skies for his annual musical showdown. The view is a beautiful backdrop for all, audience and artist. Here at this music festival you can arrive by boat and be welcomed by some of the best SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY ANYWHERE!!! This two day affair may require accommodations and you can camp along the James River on the shores of Chippokes Plantation State Park. Smithfield is located just across the James River from Williamsburg, and you may even want to come by way of the free ferry via Williamsburg!
