Craighead Estate Fine Silver Tips and Opata Estate Flowery Broken Orange Pekoe One small batch seasonal flush teas were First Served in an artistic fusion of flavour, texture and aromas at the global presentation of the spectacular seasonal teas. Expressing the diverse perfection of the luxurious indulgence that Nature blesses fine teas with, these rare teas offered a subtle, delicate and surpassingly elegant Fine Silver Tips, a handmade white tea with tiny buds of Camellia Sinensis entirely sun dried to yield an exceptional, seasonally influenced appearance in the cup, aroma, mouthfeel and taste. In contrast, the delicious different Opata estate FBOP1 brewed a deep amber tea with notes of fruit, spice and malt. The Amstel Intercontinentals Maitre dhotel Ronald Opten, presented the unique teas in expertly crafted pairing with food, evoking different aspects of each tea in combination with the food. Cinnamon Cracknell, using a spice which links Holland and Ceylon historically (the Dutch invaded Ceylon for her spices and colonised the country in 1656), showed off the malt and spice notes in the Opata FBOP1 whilst a selection of exceptional teas from the Teamakers Private Reserve by the Dilmah Family followed, paired with different foods. Three generations of Dilmah Founder, Merrill J. Fernandos family was present to offer their finest seasonal harvest to Amstel Intercontinental General Manager Anita Bos. The Dilmah patriarch was joined by his younger son Dilhan and his grandson Amrit.
