Craigs Shocktober Horror Marathon 2014 - Day 20: Rosemarys Baby (1968) Loosely based on a prophecy about my own birth, this movie is about a young woman who moves into a (obnoxious Southern accent) fancy-pants New York (end of obnoxious Southern accent) apartment with her husband and then gives birth to the Devil. Theres lots of stuff in the middle, but you get the gist. This is classic movie, guys, need I really be terribly descriptive? This is one of those must-see movies that has somehow eluded me for several years for reasons I cant really explains - maybe because I used to be leery about watching older movies before learning how to appreciate them from a pompous standpoint in college; also because of my film classes in college, maybe Im just hesitant to watch any movie that is even a little over 2 hours long. Either way, it was time to scratch this off my list and Im glad I did - its as a good a movie as many of you already know it is and some of you heard it is. The pacing is perfect, the acting, especially that of Mia Farrow, is superb, and the editing is amazing. The scene when Rosemary is drugged and impregnated by demon spawn is excellently done.
