Craigslist felony theft and fraud arrest. *NOTE-Unrelated to the recent robberies. Northern District Tactical Narcotics Team–Tactical Patrol Unit and District Detective Unit: Felony Theft: ARREST Pasadena On July 25, 2013, Northern District Tactical Narcotics Detectives received information in reference to a subject placing an order for a large amount of building materials from a supply company in Baltimore City. The subject would place the order for roof shingles under a local Roofing and Siding Company’s name located in Anne Arundel County without their knowledge. In return the Roofing and Siding Company would be billed for the material delivered at the end of the month. The subject would then place the material on Craigslist and post for sale the building material (Roof Shingles). Contact was made with the local Roofing & Siding Company who confirmed the order was fraudulent. The material was scheduled for delivery on July 26, 2013 at 1000 Hilltop Road located in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. Northern District Tactical Narcotics Team Detective posing as a potential buyer responded to the same Craigslist ad for the sale of roof shingles. The suspect agreed to sell the shingles for $3,800.00 and advised he would call when material was delivered. On July 26, 2013 Detectives made contact with the Supply Company advising undercover Detectives were conducting surveillance at the scheduled delivery location. The delivery was then made at 1000 Hilltop Road located in Anne Arundel County. Once the delivery was made the suspect made contact with the undercover officer advising the shingles were delivered and he would be waiting at the location to make the transaction. A short time later the undercover Detectives arrived at 1000 Hilltop Road and viewed the roofing shingles along with other roofing supplies the suspect was selling. Undercover Detectives then conducted a currency transaction with the suspect intended for the purchase of the building material (roof shingles and roofing supplies). Additional Detectives immediately responded and the suspect was arrested. The suspect was charged with Felony Theft and identity Fraud. Suspect: Lloyd K. Butts, 49yrs, 8200 West End Drive, Orchard Beach, MD 21226.
