Cranes, symbol of immortality&fidelity, have to take one of the toughest migrations in the world. Late August/ September they gather in flocks up to 400 individuals. During their migratory flight south, cranes fly reaching altitudes of 4,875m - 7,925m. Along this arduous journey they have to cross the Himalayan mountains to get to their over-wintering grounds in India. Many die from fatigue and hunger.
