Crash survivor thanks paramedics who saved him. Caleb Nichols nearly killed in December wreck. Published 9:26 PM CDT Oct 26, 2014 LEAWOOD, Kansas —A young man who wasnt expected to survive a rollover crash last year got a chance to shake the hands of the paramedics who saved him. Nichols car rolled over off Interstate 435 at State Line Road during a December snowstorm. He suffered a critical head injury and was unconscious when paramedics arrived. He spent nine weeks in a coma after the crash. Im really thankful for the paramedics that picked me up and getting to know them is awesome, Nichols said. A lot of the things that would be fascinating about his recovery, he wasnt even conscious enough to know how remarkable they were, but were able to be amazed at every little step along the way, said Kendall Nichols, Calebs oldest brother.
