Cream cheese peanut butter pau Our grocery day today and my little girl (20m25d) is super kwai during our outing. (y) The day started with her not wanting much of her breakfast, which was the cream cheese peanut butter paus I made yesterday night. I just re-steamed it hot this morning. I served her with honeydew, farmers Union Greek Style Natural Yogurt and cheerios. She ate a little of them and then requested for banana. At the end, she took half of the banana too. I just let it be. After our bath, she direct latched before we went out. For our grocery shopping, I packed some food - one of the left over untouched paus, honeydew, champagne grapes, Sunmaid raisins and heinz teething biscuit. On the way out, she had honeydew - half of the container and she held the container with some honeydew in it patiently until we reached parking (good job baby!). I carried her to the entrance of the hypermarket, and she did not request to walk around. Then I put her on the trolley and she requested for raisins. She was quietly eating while I picked the groceries. After she was done with her raisins, she requested more food - I gave her the choice of champagne grapes and pau, and she choose the pau. She was eating in a very appetising way, compared to this morning (lol, I was so happy to see that). She finished almost the whole pau and then requested for heinz teething biscuit as we were proceeding to the cashier counter. Unlike our usual outing, she didnt request to stand on the trolley - but only towards the end where she wanted to help me put the groceries on the cashier counter. She saw Kinder Joy at the cashier counter and did hinted to me (which is for her to practice her motor skills). Seeing her good behaviour today, I couldnt resist to reward her - but of course, she has to give me a kiss first! :P She handed the Kinder Joy to the cashier to scan the bar code - I am not too sure that her motor skills improved or the cashier was so slow - she managed to open up not just the egg but the toy part right after I put all the groceries into the trolley! I am impressed. (By the way, she knows too that she has to pass the chocolate part to me when the egg is opened.) So the Kinder Joy toy kept her occupied throughout the journey back. We arrived home, she latched and now napping. Wow! I am seriously looking forward to better outings with my little girl! Back to the cream cheese peanut butter paus: I pan fried the ground nuts with olive oil, let it cool down and then blended with unsalted butter and cream cheese. Set aside as fillings to the pau. The pau: 150g pau flour 30g cake flour 1 tsp instant yeast 1 tsp molasses sugar 1 tbsp sweetened creamer 1 tbsp skimmed milk powder 1 tsp grape seed oil 80ml water (or as needed) Mix and knead for 10 minutes. Leave it aside for 1 hour. Roll into smaller doughs and add filling. Leave it aside for another 30 minutes (I over proof it as I forgotten about it and my timer was death - but it was still ok). Steam for 10 minutes under high heat. Leave them for a minute before removing.
