Credit Retrieval Options Summer 2014 ZHS students in need of credit retrieval and skill development in core areas of English, Math, Social Studies, and Science may choose to participate in any of these programs. ZHS Summer Online Credit Retrieval Program (Edgenuity/E-2020): On a space available basis, current ZHS students may enroll in the ZHS Summer Program which provides access for credit retrieval via internet and computer. Students do not attend actual classes. All instruction, practice and evaluation is done with the online program. Student must provide their own computer with internet access. The ZHS Summer Program gives students flexibility to work on courses at times they choose and dedicate as much time each day to learning as they wish. The harder and longer students work, the more credit they may achieve. Because they are not committed to specific days and times, students are able to schedule other summer activities such as work, sports, recreation or family events and trips. Staff Support: ZHS staff will be available at posted hours to provide students and parents with summer program support. Enrollment: June 2-June 23. Students may enroll one course for .5 credit (1 semester credit). If the student finishes the first course additional courses may be added. Dates of Study: Students may begin the program as soon as they have paid their tuition and will have until July 31 to complete their credit retrieval. Cost: Tuition is $100 for the first course. Passwords are given to students to begin courses once tuition is paid. • Once the first course is completed additional courses may be added at $50 for each additional course. • Courses not completed by July cannot be extended but may earn partial credit based on hours/units completed. Other Credit Retrieval Options: ZHS accepts independent study courses from accredited schools and colleges. Students are responsible for all tuition and book fees. Make sure the principal approves your choice before you enroll and pay fees. Here are some of the more popular programs: BYU Independent Study: ce.byu.edu/is (1.800.914.8931).
