Crew Chief Update: So, he went into surgery about 1 hour late, which made the nervous knots a little hard to work with. Luckily, Charlie and Steve were there to help smooth the edges, and all were laughing by the time the gurney rolled in. The surgery lasted 3 hours. The whole gallbladder was pulled and there are only a few known complications; nothing not expected, nothing life threatening. He will have to stay in a few days longer until his labs start coming back a bit more normal and he can keep solid food down. He was going to just be knocked out for the full night to get a good, deep sleep for the first time in years. Because it was a lap not a full emergency slice him open, his healing time is a matter of days not weeks, which puts him back up to "normal" (HAHAHAHAHA) just as Fall semester starts. We will go see him again tomorrow, and hopefully see him awake and ready for real food!
