Cricket Victoria, the Melbourne Stars and the local cricket associations have teamed up to bring an exclusive cricket expo to the eastern suburbs. Designed to showcase the fun and excitement of cricket, the Eastern Suburbs School Holiday Cricket Expo will be held on September 24. “The free expo will give boys and girls the opportunity to participate in a mega cricket clinic’, Cricket Victoria Outer East Metropolitan Regional Cricket Manager Jarrod Leggett said. Held at two locations in the Eastern suburbs, the cricket expo will allow for participants to partake in various cricket activities. “The participants will also receive Melbourne Stars giveaways, meet the Melbourne Stars mascot, enjoy a free BBQ and most importantly find out where they can play cricket this summer.” “The expo is an exclusive event to the eastern suburbs and will no doubt be the number one cricket school holiday activity on this side of town,” he said. The ‘Eastern Suburbs School Holiday Cricket Expo’ coincides with Cricket Australia’s recent launch of the Play Cricket campaign. “There is plenty of buzz around cricket at the moment, with the double Ashes year and launch of the Play Cricket campaign,” Cricket Victoria Inner East Metropolitan Regional Cricket Manager Shane Koop said. “We are very excited about the prospect of boys and girls of all abilities getting involved in the sport this summer.” Details of the Eastern Suburbs School Holiday Cricket Expo are: Date: September 24, 2013 Time: 10:00am – 1:00pm Location: Bayswater #2 Ground (King Street and Mountain Highway, Bayswater) and Box Hill City Oval (Cnr Middleborough Rd and Whitehorse Rd)
