Crickett against Wal-Mart On Aug. 27, 2013 I purchased a temporary MasterCard from wal-mart in Sanford, nc. I went on line to activate the card. I cannot believe that they asked for my SS#. I guard my #. I was going to use it one time on line then destroy it. I need the card for just what it is called “TEMPORARY” The online perches was 1/2 the amount on the card so it set in my purse until Sept. 22, 2013. I needed dog food & I was broke so I called the money card to get my balance on it. I was transferred to a lady I could only understand every other word she said due to broken English being used. I asked to speak with a supervisor & she told me that she was the supervisor & I could not talk to anyone else. I did understand her, however, when she falsely accused me of stealing the card & “I need to fine another company to do business with because Wal-Mart did not want to do business with people like me.” Hmmm, a commoner like me, a business owner like me? A person that doesn’t have a criminal record like me. A person that has done business with Wal-Mart & has had a business account with Sam’s club for a while. A person that spends up to $500 a mo. with them. In my frustration I hung up angry that a company would not let me face my accuser or give me any information to rectify this problem. On Sept. 23, 2013 I called back to share my intent & demanded to face my accuser. This is American & I can remember when Wal-Mart cared about America! She told me to fax the receipt to them. Well I had thrown the receipt away after verifying the money was on the card & useable. Well that is when she told me that Wal-Mart can print me the receipt at the store I had bought it from & spend $3 to $5 to fax it to them. I had to jump through hoops & spend 2 x the money on the card to prove my case. (Is this what Wal-Mart has come to? Stealing $10 from one person then another to increase a billionaires bank account?) Wal-Mart has the receipt on file & can access it at any time. They have cameras to verify that it was me that bought the card. They want me to drive 30 miles spend my gas to do so, remember I said I was broke & trying to feed my dogs. I will spend my last dime on dog food not gas for Wal-Mart., I asked if I was going to be reimbursed for the money & time I spent doing all of this if I proved my case….”NO” she told me. Most people would say screw it it’s only $10…Well it’s only $10 from me today & $10 at just 10% of their stores a day. DO THE MATH. My Q. is, what does this add up to in their bank account a year?
