Crimson Peak Gains Mother Figure One more late night casting story via Deadline who says the “The River” star Leslie Hope, pictured, who will appear in Guillermo del Toro’s FX series “The Strain,” has joined his Legendary/Universal pic Crimson Peak. She will play the gossipy mother of Charlie Hunnam’s character in the gothic horror story that also stars Jessica Chastain, Mia Wasikowska, Charlie Hunnam, Jim Beaver and Tom Hiddleston. In the film, young author Edith Cushing discovers that her charming new husband is not who he appears to be. The pic has an October 16, 2015, release date.
