Ronaldo’s staggering haul of trebles has come in little over five years, after he joined from Manchester United in the summer of 2009, and, with 22 hat-tricks in La Liga alone, he stands level with the club record holder, Alfredo Di Stéfano. Real Madrid may have smashed the world transfer record by spending £80m to bring Cristiano Ronaldo to the Spanish capital in 2009, but his goal output since then has shown he was worth every penny.
