Cross fingers for me, folks, please! I have a job interview this morning, the first for which I was assigned homework! beforehand. Ive worked with ICP-OES, a machine the size of two washing machines, that reads carefully-carefully prepared liquid samples by means of a very hot plasma flame in order to determine their content of chosen elements, and probably costs as much as my house. This position uses one, but they wanted to see me analyze 10 different quality control checks so we can discuss it at the interview. Ive had journal article readings assigned between the time of the job offer and the first day of work, but I suppose that being assigned an exercise before the interview must be a sign that the jobs Im applying for are increasing in stature and responsibility, I hope I hope.
