Cross post from Seth Bramson on FEC Yahoo on trip yesterday Great seeing David Jim and RFE Eric. Turned out to be more than a few FEC people. We hosted the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce Transportation Committee, about ten or 12 very interested and fascinating people, some of whom had never been on a train before. Mr. Ledoux welcomed them aboard with a marvelous new program on and about our railroad and what we are doing at the various ports as well as how important Jacksonville is to us and how much we are looking to grow our business there. Following that, I intermittently presented various parts of our history, particularly focused on North Florida and their interest and attention was total. Mr. Ledoux then showed them our new promotional video featuring our magnificent new locomotives and David, our mechanical superintendent explained the workings of the new motors, including the fact that they carry 4400 HP. We left Bowden at 3:05, a bit late but except to drop of David and Jim ran non-stop, arriving HIA about 11:10 last night. FEC Police were either on board or near the train and there were no incidents of any kind. Regret I didnt have any vestibule or rear platform time but much, if not most of the trip was business--dedicated and the Jacksonville folks were all duly and highly impressed.
