Crossing the Thames this morning was quite an isolating experience. There was a very thick fog hanging over the river itself, despite glorious blue skies and sunshine on either bank. I dropped out of the flow of people to one of the parapets, and just stood. Me, alone in the heart of London. Whilst there, I noticed that the combination of the fog and my shades meant that I could look directly at the sun, which appeared as a wonderful, almost perfectly circular white disc. Its truly beautiful out there!
