Crowdsourcing sociology... I am looking to research the phenomenon where dominant social groups claim oppression when their dominance is challenged. In the venue of race politics this is typically called reverse racism. Do you know of an existing term for when a dominant group claims religious oppression? (think the Chick-fil-a uproar from a few years ago, or the Phil Robertson/Duck Dynasty situation) How about social enforcement (such as push back to criticism of police or military)? Are there books or articles that you highly recommend on this topic? Angles or theories that I should not overlook? Of course I am doing research on my own, but Id love additional input.
