Duke, who was represented by the Deputy Director of Procurement in the ministry, Mr Musa Odiniya, during a courtesy call on the Oniro of Otu, Oba Sunday Adepoju, at his palace, said the ministry was committed to completing the project in 60 days, noting that the idea of the project was entirely that of Senator Agboola. “He chose what he felt would be good for his people and also fought to see it come to fruition,” Odiniya said. Senator Agboola, who described the museum and ICT centre project, the first of its kind in the constituency, as important because of Oke-Ogun communities’ unique history and heritage and the need for the future generations to be conversant with their history, said funds were on ground to complete the project in 60 days. According to the senator, “when this project is completed, not only will it create employment for our people; it will also attract the attention of local and foreign tourists to Otu and its environs. The project is to preserve our history and our heritage as a people but there is the aspect of modernity, the ICT centre, which will give our people access to computer education.” Responding, Oba Sunday Adepoju, expressed gratitude to Senator Agboola for facilitating the museum project at a time that the country was to celebrate its centenary anniversary even as he commended him for other projects such as the construction of Otu-Ipapo road as well as other roads, primary health centres and school construction projects in the constituency, urging the managers of the museum project to meet the 60-days schedule set by the ministry and Senator Agboola. The royal father also commended President Goodluck Jonathan for his effort to stabilise the country, saying that his transformation efforts have been noticed across the country, especially in the eradication of queues at petrol stations. The project contractor and Managing Director of BMA Ventures, Dr Tunde Adu also commended Senator Agboola for allowing the award of the project to go through due process, saying politicians like the senator were hard to come by in recent times and that people should continue to support him, even as he promised to meet the 60-days deadline set for the project. Others who were in the entourage of the representative of the minister were two project consultants from the ministry, Dr Isa Adagiri and Mr Isinmi Ekundayo, with chiefs of the Oniro, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairman in Itesiwaju Local Government, Alhaji Bashiru Ahmed; members of the PDP in the local government as well as residents witnessing the event.
