Curfew to continue in Bandipora, curbs to be eased in Srinagar =>A curfew clamped in north Kashmir’s Bandepur on Saturday will remain in place on Monday, but restrictions would be eased in other parts of Kashmir, including summer capital Srinagar, will be eased. Sources said in Srinagar there would be restrictions around Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front bastion Maisuma as the pro independence group has called for protests against the killing of teenage Farhat Ahmad Dar on Friday. But there would be no curtailment in the forces’ deployment is the five police stations in the Old City. Curfew-like restrictions were in place in areas falling under Rainawari, Khaniyar, Nowhatta, SafaKadal and Maisuma. There will be no restrictions in the upper town areas of Srinagar. Sources said curfew-like restrictions will remain imposed in Naidkhai, main town, Sumbal, Hajan in Bandipora district. The deputy commissioner Bandipora Shah Faesal said: the administration is analyzing the situation and any decision with regard to imposition of restrictions on public movement in the district will be taken in the late hours in the evening. “We are still undecided about the imposition of restrictions. Presently, we are assessing the situation and any decision can be taken only in the late evening,” he said. Curfew-like restrictions will also be place in Palhallan and adjoining areas. Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Farooq Ahmad Lone said that there will be no restrictions imposed in the district but that depends on the situation. “We do not intend to impose any kind of restrictions but it all depends on the situation tomorrow. Today we witnessed a comparatively peaceful day except for some stone pelting incidents in which few constables were injured but there will be no restrictions tomorrow if the situation remained peaceful,” he added. Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Shalindera Kumar said: “The day has passed peacefully and I do not think we will need to impose any restrictions in Srinagar tomorrow. However, if the need arises, the administration will not hesitate to impose restrictions in order to prevent life and property of the people.”
