Current Affairs India - 2 June 2014 1. India’s 29th state Telengana come into existence today. K Chandrasekhar Rao was sworn in as Chief Minister of newly-created state Telangana. He was administered oath by Governor E S L Narasimhan along with other eleven cabinet ministers. The Cabinet included Raos son K T Rama Rao and nephew T Harish Rao. Hyderabad will be the joint capital of Telangana and residuary Andhra Pradesh. Andhra Pradesh Governor E S L Narasimhan was also sworn in as the Governor of Telangana today. Andhra Pradesh High Court Chief Justice Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta administered the oath to Narasimhan, who will be the common Governor to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. 2. Prime Minister Narendra Modi abolished all the existing Empowered Group of Ministers (EGoMs) and Groups of Ministers (GoMs) set by the UPA-II government last week.
