SEWA Bharat (sewabharat.org), All India Federation of Self-employed Women’s Association works with women workers in the informal sector in 9 states. In Bihar, SEWA works in 3 districts and is soon going to expand in 2 more. Presently, SEWA Bharat facilitates over 4000 poor self employed women in the micro finance programme through self help groups. SEWA Bharat now plans to set up a Thrift and Credit Cooperative for these women in the state of Bihar. Applications are invited from young women, inclined to work at the grassroot level for the following post in the organization. Details of JOB 1. Post : CEO, (Chief Executive Officer) Place of work: Bihar Qualification: Applicant must be a Post Graduate in Rural Management / MBA Finance. Minimum 2 years experience in Banking or Financial Sector is essential. The work would involve operating a state level Thrift and Credit Cooperative Society keeping all statutory, financial, legal and operational issues in place. The person has to lead a team towards sustainability of the financial model in the state as per Programme Memorandum. The team would range from professionals to semi literate women who would bridge the gap of integrated financial services for poor women in the areas of intervention. Regular reporting and development of effective MIS is within the purview of her work. Good and effective communication skill is a pre requisite to interact with Government officials, administrative staff, professionals, field workers and members who are poor self employed women. The candidate must be fluent in Hindi and English and will be based in Katihar but will have to periodically travel to other field locations in Bihar and on need basis to other offices in Delhi and Kolkata. These workers possess skills of making beautiful products from bamboo but lack information related to market trends which make their product less marketable.
