Currently members of the military receive 50% of their base pay as retirement after serving 20 years. This percentage goes up for each additional year until it tops out at 75% for 30 years. This applies to all members of the military regardless of how much combat or deployments they endure. If they get out prior to 20 years they get nothing towards retirement unless they are disabled. Do you think this is the correct compensation? Should it be changed and if so how? Why?
