#CycloneHudud Relief Update: We have been successfully running the Cash for Work scheme in 10 Hudhud-affected areas of Vizianagaram and Vishakhapatnam districts of AP. Till date, payments worth INR 2.6 lakhs have been made to 287 beneficiaries for 6 days of work. At the same time, two Child Friendly Spaces catering to 200+ children are operational in rural Vishakhapatnam. Our need assessment in the affected areas will continue and the broad plan for the next 2 weeks includes: • Providing Compact Relief Kits to 725 families in Srikakulam, Vishakhapatnam and Vizianagaram. • Starting Cash for Work scheme in 4 more areas. We plan to extend total monetary support to the tune of INR 7 lakh to 400 beneficiaries by November 10. • Providing School Kits to 1000 children in Vizianagram and Vishakhapatman who lost books and other educational material in the cyclone. • Setting up of 2 Child Friendly Spaces in Vizianagram.
