Czech Industrial Production Rises For First Time In 9 Months Industrial production in Czech Republic increased in July, ending an eight-month bout of declines, data from the Czech Statistical Office showed Friday. Output increased 2.1 percent year-on-year in July following a 4.9 percent decline in June. Economists had forecast a 2 percent growth. Compared to the previous month, seasonally adjusted production rose 0.4 percent. Manufacturing output climbed 4.1 percent year-on-year in July, while mining and quarrying output plunged 11.2 percent. The statistical office also reported that the value of new orders received by the industrial sector increased 9 percent on an annual basis during the month. Separately, the statistical office said that the construction output increased 0.2 percent year-on-year in July. In another report, the agency said average gross monthly wages in the country dropped 0.3 percent in real terms in the second quarter from a year earlier. In the first half of 2013, real wages decreased 1.3 percent compared with the same period last year.
