DAILY LIGHT TUESDAY, 23RD JULY, 2013 CLEAR WITH YOUR BOSS FIRST “For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things:” Acts 15:28 The word of God is given to us for us to know what to do when confronted with issues. It is our manual for life and written for our learning. So when attention is given to its diligent study, one would always know what to do in every circumstance. The text is in reference to an issue that confronted the apostles in Jerusalem. It had to do with a major decision they had to take that would have a major effect on the future of the church. They, knowing the sensitive nature of the issue and how a wrong decision could have an adverse effect on the church refused to use their natural inclination and common sense. Instead, they consulted with their boss, the Holy Spirit. It was after such regard for the Holy Spirit that the right thing to do was shown them. So in their address to the church, they stated, “it seemed good first to the Holy Ghost and us”. Emphasis is laid on the fact that it first seemed good to the Holy Ghost. There is a way that seems right unto a man but only leads to a downfall. There is One who knows the end-result of every decision right from the beginning; He is the Holy Ghost. He is for you and not against you. Don’t do what seems good to you. Engage the services of your Counsellor and you will always end in victory. Stay blessed! Prayer Dear Holy Spirit, I acknowledge you as my Counselor. I yield myself to your counsel from today and I know I walk in victory in Jesus’ name. PS. DAVID
