A volunteer writes: A little peanut was sitting in the middle of her kennel giving me a gentle woof when she saw me pass by. As I speak dog, I knew that woof meant I need to go out please....so out we went. Doing her business as soon as we were out the door, she wagged her tail in a thank you and off we went for a short walk. Daisy is tiny, but more importantly, shes emaciated; every rib shows, her hip bones jut out, and you can count the notches on her spine. As it was cold she let me put a coat on her and we went for a short walk before going into the backyard. Her leash manners are excellent as she walked right by my side. Her sweet disposition and quiet manner despite her obvious lack of care made me fall head over heels in love with her. She takes treats super gently despite how obviously hungry she must be. Shes being fed an extra meal daily to help her gain some much needed weight. Greeting other dogs with a soft manner, Daisy is happiest snuggling with her person and giving kisses. I wanted to cuddle with her all day, and promise her that life would get better....shed be well fed, kept warm and safe and know what it feels like to be a pampered pet.
