DAK demands impartial probe into Shopian killings “Will come to roads if killers not arrested’ Srinagar, Sep 12: Condemning the killing of innocent youth in Gagran Shopian, President Doctors Association of Kashmir (DAK) Dr. Nisar-ul-Hassan termed the killing a “cold-blooded murder”. The Association also demanded impartial probe to investigate these killings. “The unprovoked shooting of a young person at upper part of the body is a testimony to the fact that forces fire with an intention to kill,” DAK President Dr. Nisar ul Hassan in a statement issued to GNS said. He said the CRPF camp at Gagran Shopian is a serial killer camp. “They have been given a free hand to kill. This is an eye opener for every Kashmiri to realize that nobody is safe here,” he said, adding that forces are here to kill and they are let free after killing innocent Kashmiris. Nisar said that Doctors as intellectuals cannot be mute spectators to these innocent killings. “We have to agitate and protest against these killings as part of our responsibility and obligation towards our society. We are anguished to see this brutality and our heart bleeds. Any conscious person will protest against this humanitarian crisis but whenever our people protest against these killings, Police uses its brutal ways of beating, teargasing, lathi-charging and arrests.” Criticizing Government of maintaining criminal silence on these killings, he said that by not holding anybody accountable proves they are party to it. “New Delhi through its puppets in the state has unleashed a reign of terror to suppress the sentiments of Kashmiris.” Lashing out at Indian electronic media for their prejudiced approach while reporting news, Dr. Nisar said the Indian media by projecting killed innocent civilians as militants prove that they are biased. “Thus, they are abusing the very idea of sacred institution of Journalism.” He appealed international communities to come forward in this humanitarian crisis. “These killing will not deter our resolve, in fact, strengthen our conviction. We have to be steadfast in ongoing freedom struggle and it is by way of sacrifices that this nation will get freedom from the clutches of slavery.” Time has come that we should prioritize our national cause rather than personal cause, Nisar said. DR. Nisar said the Doctors Association of Kashmir (DAK) demands an impartial probe in the form of an independent commission to investigate these killings. “We want killers to be arrested immediately or else we will be left with no choice other than to come on roads,” DAK President added.
