The academy requires you to perform the winning song live, (real-time), and un-enhanced electronically. The artist couldnt. Now, I am taking a stand and proclaiming that Pharrell Williams is showing signs that he wants to be a life-long-lasting career oriented artist who is not only legitimate, he is also prolific at songwriting. After co-winning an award at this years Grammy Award; with an (Old-Schooler Music Maker), (Nile Rodgers), and (master music makers), (DefPunks), he has followed that feat up with a fantastic exhibition in songwriting skills; combining a beat from the 60s, the vocal style of (Cuba Gooding, Sr.), one of the greatest lead vocalist of the 70s, with his group: The Main Ingredients, and topped it with a universal appealing message, and entitled the song: HAPPY. Pharrell easily used at least 5 decades of hit-music making formulas in one song. You cant get it any better than this these days, anywhere in the world.
