DANCE STYLES AND THEIR IMPACT ON SEQUENCE Hello again sequence dancers. While our sequence dance leaders continue to sit around and ignore sequence dance promotion as was recently noted on the Alexandria Dance FB page other dance styles are happily providing alternatives to a dance hungry public who feel they just gotta dance. Take a look at the Bachata video below and check out the view count over 18 months. The Bachata is simple and attractive to beginners and is heavily promoted on YT. Two other Bachata videos alone have accumulated nearly 4 million views over a few years. No wonder people new to dancing do not even consider sequence when very little is done to professionally promote the style while every other dance genre can be accessed in the social media. When will our dance administrators ever learn that the social media provides a wonderful opportunity to showcase sequence?
