DANCES WITH WOLVES Over the years in Nigeria, it took me a very long time especially after the death of my father in a car accident to realize that all that glitters is no gold, and all that twinkles is no star. It took me many years of great pretense, tolerance, and perseverance to realize that most friends in our lives are users and abusers. It was heartbroken to see that certain friends we seem to love so much and care about will be the very first to destroy us, blackmail us and betray our friendship especially if you are trying to be progressive in life, or if they be the first to progress before you. They creep into our lives like snails with the venom of snakes, crawling and creeping like the creatures of the sea. Where money is concerned, they become like chameleon with shades of all colors and like wolves in sheep skin. My message to you all is that if you are a very good person and everyone without exception says you are too good, you must know that you are a good fool. It will be very hard for you to prosper or excel in life because your survival depends on your foolishness to please the world. If you please the world and do everything people says to you, and allow people to use and abuse your friendship or relationship, then you are a nice person, a very nice fool. If you continue to allow people to have their ways with you in life, and ensure that you should rather be offended than to offend others and become extremely righteous, the world will say you are a very good person because you succumb to their will as users and abusers. People will love you more for what they can gain from you. If you cant give them what they want from you, then you become their enemy and they will abandon you and go to other people who can give them what they want. The world is a place that will drown you as a good person and ensure that you never rise above the mist. Naturally normal people do not want other people to be better than them. Most people often wish to take others for a ride. Goodness is a thing of the heart, a personality between man and God. The day you challenge a friend or stop people from messing with your life, they will all say you are a bad person. The very day in life you start to stand up for your self and dictate your terms and you do not allow these people to mess with your life, that same day you will also be regarded as a bad person. Friends will run from you because you have refused to allow them ride your life like a horse and do whatever they like with you. That is the irony of life in our Dances with Wolves.
