DAUGHTERS OF THE KING DEVOTIONAL Hes Ordered For Me Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you where you go. (Joshua 1:9) There are occasions when luncheon dates are scheduled that I realize that I will be delayed in my arrival. Often I call the luncheon parties and tell them to place an order for me because I am on my way. Invariably, there are times that I do not get the opportunity to make the call to order in advance. On these occasions when I am meeting colleagues, I am resigned to trust the parties to know what to order for me in my absence. Sometimes the order is correct and sometimes it is a little off base. However, when I am meeting those who are personally, very close to me, I do not have to call ahead. They know what I like, and more than often because we communicate with each other with such frequency, they also know what I am in need of. It is very much the case with God. Due to His attribute of being all-knowing, He is always aware of our every need and desire. He always knows what is best for us. He knows those things of which we stand in need even better than we know ourselves. He has said He will never leave or forsake us. He knows when to order just the right amount of strength and courage that we will need for the task ahead of us. Even then, He still reminds us of His presence. So as we go through uncertain times, as we make our arrival and face difficulties, we dont have to worry because if we continually talk with God and maintain our close relationship, we can stand assured - Hes already ordered for me. Prayer: O Father, I thank You for Your closeness and the privilege of having a relationship with You. I thank You there is never a time You are unaware of my needs. I thank You for being the God of all comfort and supply of the things Your children are in need of. Help me each day to rely upon You as my source and everything else as a resource. I ask You to help me to maintain my perspective of Your enormous size as compared to the smallness of my problems. In Jesus Name, Amen.
