DAWN PATROL!!! Now that I am no longer Warringah FEC President - TopicsExpress

DAWN PATROL!!! Now that I am no longer Warringah FEC President the capacity of some of my better initiatives to embarrass the Party is greatly reduced & one of the fun stories from the last election can be told. The morning the Warringah FEC did a sedate poster wave for Tony at three locations in Warringah a colleague & I spent the night painting our own banner attacking Rudd. It was about 60 Metres long & we put it up at the junction of the main freeways connecting Western Sydney with the CBD. We had it up about 30 minutes before the Officials turned up & told us to take it down. We stretched them out for another hour. In the end we found a wall facing the freeway on private land & trimmed it up so it fitted there. In a sure sign of a decline of the local ALP I lost a bet that it wouldnt last one night. In fact I went back a week after the election to take it down! The ALP Grassroots is not a shadow of what it used to be. In the old days I could have relied on getting into a biff before we had even finished putting it up! Hell I miss the Commies. They really made politics fun.
