The people of Israel on their way to the promise land never expect what they pass through in the wilderness, When they suffer lack of water, the question they ask was is God with us they forget all the miracle of God back in the Egypt. Some times some hardship of life like marriage, unemployment, disapointment etc. will make us to ask is God with us, YES He is with us all He need from us is FAITH. They challenge Moses without knowing is indirectly challenging God that called Moses. Ex 17:2 The people complined to moses Give us water to drink It was on the process to satisfy this their demand that cause Moses the promise land. Cant we give you water from this rock making himself the provider of the water, talking as in he is the 1 making water to flow from the rock. It was that statment rob Moses the Promise land not hiting on the rock. As a leader dont allow the people you are leading to lead you into undoing.
