DAY 78 – CHRIST WAS MADE - TopicsExpress

DAY 78 – CHRIST WAS MADE SIN ------------------------------------------------------ And I will say it again, that unless the Holy Spirit gives another meaning or revelation of what we read in the Word of God, it is important to take it literally. “For God made him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in him.” – 2 Corinthians 5:21. And in another place, we read that, “The LORD had laid on him the inequity of us all.” These are very plain and clear statements in their meaning. To deny what is being said here is to deny Christ as a Savior and also to make God a liar. It is clear from the above that sin was lifted from the guilty and put on the innocent. God laid upon Jesus, who voluntarily accepted it, all the weight of human sin. Instead of putting it upon the sinner who committed it, it was put on Jesus who did not commit it – while the righteousness of Christ was put on the sinner and the guilty. Those who by nature are guilty are regarded as righteous, while he who never sinned was treated as guilty. Most people think this is impossible. It might be impossible, but with God it is possible. It is not only possible, but the LORD has done it. Most might say it is unreasonable to do such a thing. To the educated and wise of this world, it may be unreasonable – but I prefer to believe God and to be guided by his own reasoning and wisdom. Salvation is a miracle and miracles are received by faith. No, not blind faith. For there is no such a thing as blind faith. Facts always win any argument. It is a fact that God has laid on Christ the inequity of us all. God’s revelation proves the fact and our faith defies human reasoning. God says it and I believe it. In believing it I find life. Christ was not guilty and could not be guilty, but he was treated as if he was guilty. He was not only treated as a sinner, but as if he was sin itself. This is a big statement to make, but it’s true. The sinless one was made sin. The full weight of it came upon him when he was nailed on the cross. Why would you not this truth? Believe on the LORD Jesus and you shall be saved.
