DAY THREE KUWAIT, ARABIAN PENINSULA The League of Arab States met in Kuwait recently to talk about issues concerning the Arab world. With the rising tide of differences in the Sunni and Shia branches of Islam, little was agreed upon. They continue to stand against Israel becoming a Jewish state. However, since there is strong support for both sides of the Syrian conflict, they cannot agree on a peace plan. Pray for God to lead these Arab nations into a growing desire for peace even in the face of different views of how Islam should be practiced. Pray for Kuwait which allows churches to meet, but has very few Christian Believers (The Bible, Mark 16:15-16). BANGLADESH, SOUTH ASIA Recently, millions in Bangladesh celebrated the ancient Hindu festival of Holi. The spring gala is also popular among non-Hindu peoples. Aljazeera reports, “Many members from the Muslim community also join their Hindu neighbors to celebrate the festival by smearing abeer (a colored powder) and spraying water colors on each other. Students at universities and colleges get drenched in color, singing and dancing together. For the Hindu community, this festival brings a message of unity and friendship. The Hindus near Dhaka color their faces with blue depicting the Hindu god Krishna.” Pray for millions of people in Bangladesh to worship the One True God. Ask the Holy Spirit to open the eyes of both Hindus and Muslims to the Truth of Jesus Christ. Pray for a large harvest of souls in Bangladesh (The Bible, John 17:3).
