DAy 1 of 5 of the Art Challenge Yesterday, I was nominated by Irit Dulman yesterday to take part in a 5 day art challenge. For the next 5 days I am to post pieces of my art work and to nominate 5 artists (one each day) that inspire me. This afternoon, Chrissie Day also challenged me, so Im not sure about the rules of the game, but Ill be posting here for 5 days as one challenge, thank you both! Irit posted a wonderful dress, handstitched and ecoprinted, so to mirror her, here is another ecoprinted and handstitched garment. This piece was made a long time ago and finished in 2013 (I had to dig into my archives for this challenge, which is always an interesting process), using various samples of ecoprint on silks and wool, and stitching them. The final tunic is called: Walking the Earth (2013) and was exhibited at the 1st International Antalya Fashion and Textile Design Biennial in Turkey. To continue this challenge, I would like to nominate various artists in different fields. For Day 1, Im passing on this challenge to Elizabeth Bunsen, mixed media artist extraordinaire, who knows how to play with found materials in nature, teabags for making dreamlines on papers, leaves to imprint on papers and makes wonderful art books. Her blog is a daily source of inspiration to many, among which myself of course. I hope shell accept the challenge! Lets spread art and beauty around for now. Hope you enjoy my founds.
