DDC reviewed Republic Day arrangements in Doda Doda, Jan 01: To review the arrangements for smooth and enthusiastic celebrations of the forthcoming Republic Day on 26th of January 2015 in the District, a meeting of the District and Sector Officers was today convened by District Development Commissioner Doda Mr. Shyam Vinod Meena at meeting hall DC Office Doda. Senior Superintendent of Police Doda Mr. Mohd. Sharief Chouhan, Additional Deputy Commissioner Doda Mr. Imam Din, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Doda Mr. S.C Dogra, Chief Planning Officer Doda Mr. Y.S Katoch, District Statistic and Evaluation Officer Doda Dr. Yassir Balwan, Chief Education Officer Doda Mr. Ayaz Mughal, Executive Engineer PWD (R&B), PHE, and PDD Division Doda , besides other District and Sector Officers and representatives of Army and CRPF also attended the meeting. During the meeting it was revealed that the main function will be organized in the Sports Stadium Doda where VIP/VVIP will unfurl the tricolor and take the salute of the March past contingents of JKP, JKAP, CRPF, FPF, NCC and School Children, besides a colorful cultural programme will also be presented by the school children in collaboration with Cultural Academy Doda. For the general supervision of the necessary arrangements a Committee of the officers was constituted under the supervision of the Additional District Development Commissioner Doda comprising the members from Police, Army, PWD, JKPCC and other Departments. It was also apprised that the main function starts with the Shehnaie Wadan by the District Information Centre Doda . Various other necessary arrangements were also discussed in the meeting which include Security, Drinking water facility at the venue, Cleanliness and Sanitation, Seating arrangement, Traffic management, Power Supply etc. While participating in the meeting SSP Doda Mr. M.S Chouhan said that fool proof security arrangements will be made for smooth and enthusiastic celebration of the National day. He enjoined upon all the officers to cooperate with the security personals during making necessary arrangements at the venue. DDC directed XEn PDD Doda and EO Municipality Doda to replace/ repair all the street / flood lights in the town, besides ensure installation of adequate lighting at the venue of celebration for security reasons. DDC also enjoined upon the officers to recommend the names of those officials who have performed their duties exceptionally well so that they are appreciated with citation certificates on the occasion. It was also revealed that the Republic day full dress rehearsal will be held on 24th of January 2015.
