DEADLY SEASON FOR SW ONTARIO MOTORCYCLISTS . . . The road through summer can be paved with danger — especially for motorcyclists. More vulnerable than most vehicles, bikes can be a fun and economical way to get around but dangle extra risks even for careful drivers. Already this year, with the warm weather far from gone, a rash of recent crashes has driven the Southwestern Ontario death toll for motorcyclists on OPP-patrolled roads to seven, matching the same grim fallout to last year at this time. Besides those deaths, there’ve been dozens of near-fatal crashes — some, the fault of bike drivers but more often the fallout of other vehicles.
