DEAR FACEBOOK, Why are you persecuting me? And of all times…when I brought my son back from the hospital after becoming partially paralyzed. I am a middle-aged mother of four (who use FB) and was one of the first of the students at University of Hawaii to buy in to your project (I went back to school with my kids.) You say that I am asking to be friends with people I don’t know. Well, as far as I knew it your app made it impossible for that to happen..I have refused friendship with one or two since it ALWAYS GIVES ME THAT OPTION. What? Is that option not there anymore? Secondly, you act like I am trolling around for friends!!! NO WAY. The only friends I get for the last few years are those that YOUR APP suggests to me!! Maybe in the first year, I asked a few, but not since then! You see, it offers me hundreds of people that are contacts with my other friends. So, I imagine I know them, as I have never been good with names, and I was involved in churches and ministries in Amarillo, Dallas, and multiple churches here especially King’s Cathedrals and Chapels that has 71 churches all over the world. So, if your app says I have 76 mutual friends, or 49 or 36, I believe I’ve seen them at one of our conferences. (Btw, I see that Carole King had 2.8 million likes and some preachers have almost that many!). That, and I went to six different high schools and 4 different colleges, including two here in Hawaii. Third, I believe it was you who tricked me, by putting a person in my messages, (three times) with the message “Do you know…”, so I clicked on it and went to their page to see who they were, and saw stuff that made me think they are involved in my church, so I clicked it to “friend” them. That is when I saw the insulting ultimatum and jail time of 30 days that I was in (of not allowed to click on friends). Alas, maybe some people are right and Twitter is better.
